Our goals and objectives
We would like to remind you that Local Agenda-21 is the program for sustainable (or environmentally balanced) development of villages, towns, districts, schools . It can be discussed and approved at any level by any decision-making body – the Deputies Council, a Local Self-Governance Committee, a labor collective meeting, a school general meeting.
Sustainable development is a kind of development, when satisfaction of the needs of the current generation is realized without restriction of the possibility of the next generation to satisfy their needs.
Objectives facing the community
According to the results of a polling among local citizens and estimation of the situation in the Disna County a list of task has been formed, which were also formulated in the Local Agenda-21. The local community passed the stage of familiarization with the sustainable development principles, main of those being the Biblical “thou shalt not steal” the future from yourself and your descendants.
Together with the citizens we cleaned from debris the river banks and private yards, with pupils we marked with flags the embankment along the river to be built in future, with teachers we solved the problems of environmental education of young and adults, with cultural workers we organized national endow fairs, festivals, dedicated to different streets, all together we met the first representatives of tourist agencies, opened the first tourist homesteads, greeted , a Nobel concerts organizer Mikhail Kazinika and brave canoers.
The Local Agenda is primarily associated not with the concept of a “document”, but with the concept of "the process", i.e. it is oriented at permanent activities, concrete changes and positive results.
