Investment project
Island on the Dvina-Daugava
Services in the sphere of ecotourism.
Disna has entered into cooperation with Scandinavian countries. We are taking part in the project “Dvina-Daugava Panorama ”. No trip along the Dvina river will go without the Zamkovy island, a bastion over the Dvina that defended Polotsk lands for many years.
There was an unassailable fortress on it and the first coat-of-arms granted to Disna in 1567 was called «Three marble towers». The towers however have never been built of marble, perhaps it was planned for the future.
Two years after that the town of Disna got the Magdeburg Rights and a new «Boat» coat-of-arms on silver waves against the blue sky, which was the symbol of trade at that time.Today the arms of the town, that was given back to Disna, can be interpreted as the symbol of tourism in an ecologically clean region.
Project objective: reconstruction of wooden fortress on the island in the confluence of the Western Dvina and Disna rivers and development of the corresponding infrastructure for organization of spearrunnings, festivals, events and attraction for tourists and locals.
Investment appeal: possibility to take part in long-term projects under three-party Sweden-Latvia-Belarus agreement “Dvina-Daugava”.
